The Healthcare IT Retreat

Location: Williamsburg, Virgina

August 25th - August 27th

Pioneering Public Sector Innovation.

In the public sector, we are often tasked with implementing massive federal initiatives in isolation. Too often, we rely on systems that prioritize complexity over outcomes. Frontier State, a 501(c)(3) was built to break that cycle.

We invite you to join a high-impact gathering of executive leadership, legislators, and industry experts for a retreat focused on substantive solutions to our most common challenges.

Why Attend The Summit?

The Intersection of Public Policy & Technology.

This isn’t just another conference; it is a collaborative workshop designed to produce frameworks, tactics, and tools you can immediately apply in your jurisdiction.

  • Policy-Led Healthcare Tracks: Join a focused cohort exploring federal initiatives, including H.R 1: "The One Big Beautiful Bill" (income verification, ADA, and community engagement) and Rural Health Transformation funding.

  • Technical Governance & Technology Practices: Dive deep into data governance, identity, secure use of AI, and cybersecurity with peers who understand your operational constraints.

  • Modernizing Procurement: Work alongside innovative procurement leaders and legal counsel to streamline the acquisition of technology solutions.

  • Cross-Branch Connection: Strengthen your leadership skills by engaging with regulators, appropriators, and CXOs in a setting designed for peer-to-peer growth.

The Ecosystem Approach

Enabling The Business Requirements To Drive Technology

Modernizing the public sector requires more than just an IT update; it requires a shift in how decisions are made. We bring together executive leadership, legislators, procurement officers, and CXOs because innovation only happens when we move beyond "IT-led" silos.

Our workshops are designed to help your jurisdiction transition into a world where business and operational requirements drive technology decisions, not the other way around. By documenting business cases within a user-stories framework, we ensure that transformation remains rooted in public policy and statute. To do this, we bring the entire ecosystem together.

  • Public Sector Executives: Agency heads, deputies, and senior executive staff.

  • Policy Makers: Legislators and senior legislative staff.

  • CXOs: Forward-thinking CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, and CDOs.

  • Industry Thought Leaders: Private sector solution creators focused on outcomes.

We believe that private sector thought leaders and SMEs play a vital role in the ecosystem as solution creators and experts who have been "in the trenches." However, we also know that building the trust necessary for honest collaboration requires a neutral, pitch-free environment.

  • No Sales Activity Allowed: We enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy on sales pitches and competing agendas.

  • Outcome-Focused: Every session is predicated on building a community of practice, not a vendor pipeline.

  • Peer-to-Peer Learning: The agenda is designed to foster trusted relationships and shared insights across jurisdictions.

Building A Foundation Of Trust And Substance

The Venue: Williamsburg Inn

The Frontier State Healthcare IT Leadership Retreat will be held at the Williamsburg Inn, a landmark property in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg and the only Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star resort in Virginia's Historic Triangle.

Built in 1937 and originally conceived by John D. Rockefeller Jr., the Inn pairs Regency-style elegance with modern amenities across 62 thoughtfully appointed guest rooms. Attendees can expect spacious accommodations, a full-service spa, golf, tennis, and on-site dining that draws on the flavors and heritage of the region.

Beyond the setting itself, Williamsburg offers something fitting for a retreat of this nature: a place where the weight of history and the urgency of the present sit side by side - a reminder that the hardest problems have always required people willing to do the work together.
